[Asia Week New York Fall 2024] Christie’s New York presents Japanese and Korean Art Live Auction and “New Wave: Modern Japanese Prints” Online Sale
Christie’s New York’s live auction of Japanese and Korean art during Asia Week 2024 will be led by Hokusai Katsushika’s famous woodblock print The Great Wave off Kanagawa and the rare brush-painted Swimming Carp.We present to you an important European private collection of netsuke, a rare Joseon period blue and white jar decorated with poetry, Park Su-geun's oil painting "Wandering Children", 16th century lacquerware, and knife sets from an American private collection.
"New Wave: Modern Japanese Prints" Online AuctionThe exhibition will feature the rarely seen early works by Hiroshi Yoshida, “Sailboat” and Hasui Kawase’s “Shiba Zojoji Temple”, as well as other wonderful works by Fukami Ito and Shiko Munakata.
The auction preview begins on September 11 and runs through September 24. During the preview period, visitors can visit Christie’s New York from September 13 to 16 for a preview, and the auction will take place on September 17 at Christie’s New York’s 20 Rockefeller Plaza.
