Adrian Gurney's "No Eyesight" was sold for HK$35 million, plus commission of HK$42,725,000, and was won by plate number 8423.Adrian from Romania. Gurney is an acclaimed new generation of art stars. In this colorful and dynamically textured composition, Gurney pays homage to Van Gogh while simultaneously presenting a self-portrait. The artist displayed superb painting techniques, from the soft and delicate strokes of a flower to the thick strokes of a knife, to outline Van Gogh's unique swirling curves. It can be seen that Gurney's creations were influenced by Bacon, Lucian Freud, Richter and other artistic predecessors, and then transformed into his own unique artistic language.
