Jia Aili was born in Dandong, Liaoning, China in 1979. He currently lives and creates in Beijing. He is a backbone of Chinese contemporary artists. The images he paints are epic and majestic, interweaving everyday scenes, portraits, fantasy and abstract forms. "Burning", which is about to be auctioned for the first time, wanders between abstract painting, surreal landscape painting, figurative painting and genre painting.The artist’s iconic masterpiece in 2016. It also marks the artist’s first time at a live auction in New York.
About the artist
Jia Aili was born in Dandong, a northeastern city on the banks of the Yalu River in 1979. He was admitted to the Oil Painting Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2001. He received widespread attention after graduating from graduate school in 2006. The following year, he came to Beijing and held his first solo exhibition "Crazy Scene".
