[2023 Autumn Auction] Wang Yi's "In the Forest" set a new personal record at Christie's Hong Kong for HK$1.38 million

Wang Yi's "In the Forest" was estimated at HKD 80,000-120,000 and sold for HKD 1,100,000, plus commission of HKD 1,386,000.Refresh personal auction record(Breaking the record held by China Guardian Beijing’s “Chasing (Diptych)” CNY 920,000 on December 14, 2022).
This work comes from Shanghai Liang Project, a private collection in Asia, and the current owner purchased it from the above sources. participated From October to November 2023, the "Gentle Anxiety" exhibition will be held at the Aurora Museum in Shanghai.
It broke the record held by China Guardian Beijing's "Chasing (Diptych)" CNY 920,000 on December 14, 2022.
About the artist
Wang Yi, born in Shanghai in 1984, graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Shanghai University Academy of Fine Arts in 2006 with a bachelor's degree, and in 2010 received a master's degree from the Oil Painting Department of the New York Academy of Art. In 2018, he won the John Moores Excellence Award in China. The award is known as the "Oscars of painting" in the UK. As an international competition platform for easel art and the most important art award in the painting category, it has unearthed David Hockney, Peter Doig, Richard Hamilton and many other artists.
