After three years of preparation,M Woods Museum's new Beijing building will cover 5,000 square metersIt radiates the heart of Beijing's urban life circle on an unprecedented scale. This is not only an exhibition space, but also a center and gathering place for M Woods Museum to promote artistic exchanges, cultivate artistic talents, and deepen the innovation of art community models.M Woods’ new Beijing building is scheduled to open to the public in spring 2025.

The exhibition plan for the new museum will be released soon. At the same time, the establishment of a permanent collection space will also be the core content of the new museum's operation plan, aiming to present to the public the museum's permanent collection, which has received less attention before, and to systematically sort out and conduct in-depth research on the collection.

Review of M Woods Museum's development roadmap

Founded in 2014 by Lin Han and Lei Wanying (Wanwan), M Woods Art Museum is located in the core area of Beijing's 798 Art District.The building was formerly a military factory in the 1950s. In August 2024, it officially announced its departure from 798.

In 2019, M Woods Museum (Qianliang Hutong) was completed and opened in Longfu Temple, BeijingThe opening exhibition "David Hockney - Big Splash" from 2019.8.13 to 2020.1.5 attracted everyone's attention. After four years of operation, it ceased operations in May 2023.

In August 2023, M Woods Art Museum will be completed and opened in Chengdu, which is still in operation today.

Based on the successful experience of Chengdu M Woods Museum, which is scheduled to open in 2024, the new museum will combine the functions and models of Beijing 798 Museum and Longfu Temple Qianliang Hutong Museum: inheriting the innovative experimental spirit of 798 Museum, while drawing on the experience of Qianliang Hutong Museum in hosting large-scale international cooperative exhibitions.
