As a new chapter that integrates ink on paper with paper-cut collage, personal creation and social participation, the "Five Hundred Brushstrokes" series has become one of Wu Jian'an's most watched artistic creation projects in recent years. The works are like abstract ink, color ink paintings, or gestural paintings, with long lines, folds, ripples, arcs, and all kinds of indescribable splash trajectories and scratch marks swimming in the painting. "A Butterfly on the Spider's Face", as one of the representative creations of "Infinity Painting", is another in-depth exploration of "part and whole" by the artist based on the research of the "Five Hundred Strokes" series. The creation process of this series is complicated: first, "line drawing" is used to outline the overall image of the painting, and then it is broken into targeted pieces to obtain the smallest unit in the painting, one stroke at a time. Each brushstroke is individually described, transforming from an abstract line segment into an independent graphic or even image. Finally, the artist places it back into its original position as a whole, creating a new image and visual experience. In the work, specific images from the past appear and disappear, creating obstacles for the audience to identify the images, while also bringing fun. The broken, inorganic and unstructured brushstrokes are separated from the whole, have no beginning and no end, and can be infinitely expanded. The picture has completed the reconstruction from "tangible" to "invisible", and then to "tangible within the invisible". Becomes "Infinite Painting".
